Much of my acting work in the last 18 years has been as part of longtime collaborations with groups of artists creating new work. Here's a little context for the roles I originated:
CONNI'S AVANT GARDE RESTAURANT
Sue James, a fireplug of a general manager Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant a retrospective of the under-appreciated ouvre of the legendary Miss Conni Convergence, in which a five-course meal is served Olga, the belabored, sex-starved eldest Irina's Birthday Party an adaptation of Chekhov's Three Sisters where all of the men are played by inanimate objects and the audience eats cake Viola, the stranded twin Little West 12th Night and Illyria, theatrical walking tours of the meatpacking district and the lower east side, respectively, in which the aristocracy of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night are re-imagined as NYC real-estate elite Cady, a swinging small-pond celebrity The Secret Social a commission by Cleveland Public Theatre in which the audience is admitted to a secret club, votes on its newest member, and eats borscht |
